Solis Marks Mid-Autumn Festival With Countywide Proclamation

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Los Angeles County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis today issued the following statement in recognition of the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival:

“The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is a cherished celebration observed by communities around the world and here in Los Angeles County. Across the First District, from Chinatown, Thai Town, Historic Filipinotown and Little Tokyo to neighborhoods throughout the San Gabriel Valley, families gather to celebrate traditions passed down through generations.

This occasion is an opportunity to recognize the rich cultural heritage and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities throughout Los Angeles County. On behalf of the First District, I wish everyone celebrating a joyful, peaceful and prosperous Mid-Autumn Festival.”

Last week, following a motion authored by Board Chair Solis, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors proclaimed Sept. 25, 2026, as Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, in Los Angeles County.
